Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I book a course?
A. All you have to do is download and complete an application form and send it, along with your payment/deposit to the address on the form. You will receive confirmation via email.
Q. How do I know which course is right for me?
A. If you can’t find the information you need in the programme of courses, contact the Tutor who will be more than happy to help you decide which course is right for you.
Q. Will I need a sewing machine?
A. A machine is not absolutely essential for the Starting to Sew course but machine techniques will be discussed. Your tutor can give you guidance regarding buying a machine. For all other courses, a machine that you are familiar with will be needed.
Q. I really have no idea when it comes to sewing, I’m worried I wont be able to keep up in the class.
A. You will be in very good hands, your Tutor is very experienced in teaching needlework and will use a combination of theory and practical techniques to enable you to develop your skills. Classes are small to ensure individual attention.
Q. Are the courses suitable for teenagers?
A. All courses are suitable for teenagers as well as adults, however, if a student is still at school we would like to point out that taking on additional learning should not compromise school work. Your Tutor has experience of teaching in F.E colleges and is CRB checked. Under 18′s should have parental consent. We are currently formulating workshops for younger learners in needle crafts.
Q. I work shifts so would miss some lessons, what should I do?
A. To ensure our courses represent true value for money where space allows, you may be able to attend on an alternative evening. The exception to this, due to course content, is Starting to sew, The Absolute beginner course. Otherwise, homework can be set. Speak to your tutor for further advice.
